What are the activities of this Sparsh Foundation?
Hejje Gurthu
Hejje Gurthu is a free sustainable club foot treatment programme focusing on the identification and correction of club foot. Club foot is completely curable if attended to at an early age. Hejje Gurthu, which means ‘foot prints’ in Kannada, has changed the lives of over 250 children. Our aim is to have a Karnataka that is free of children suffering from neglected club feet.
Right to Resuscitation
Accidents are great levellers. They don’t differentiate between the rich and the poor, social class or religion. The difference between life and death in many cases is medical intervention in the shortest possible time. The ability to pay for medical help at that point in time should be the least of all concerns. At SPARSH, we believe, that everyone has the right to be resuscitated, irrespective of their affordability and identity.
Cleft Lip and Palate
In conjunction with Smile Train we are providing free treatment to all children with the problem of cleft lip and palate.
Children in Need
A program, which funds children who require complex and extensive surgical intervention. This is a program that we are committed to expanding in scope. The most notable beneficiaries of this program are Lakshmi and Prabhu.
