30 Weeks Scan – Appointment

May 30

Doc had told us to get a BPS Scan done in our 30th week. Doc also suggested to get it done by Dr. Pradeep.

But the receptionist from the Radiology department called us saying that Dr. Pradeep was not feeling well and told that he would be back only after a few days.

We were not in hurry so we confirmed and re-scheduled the meeting to 5 days later.

Again we got a call from the Radiology department explaining the unavailability of Dr. Pradeep and wanted to know if we can get it done by any other Doc.

We again re-scheduled it to the day when he was available, we also confirmed with our Doc, she said it was alright and we can get it done by other Doc too.

Stem Cells

I had been exploring the facts behind the Stem Cell Banking and which Vendor to go for Stem Cell Banking.

I will be meeting Reli-cord, Cryo-Save and Life Cell in this regard. The details and comparison from my end will be posted in a week’s time.

If anybody has any reviews on these, please share them. It will help many like me who are still confused on this subject.

13th & 14th Ante Natal Classes – Missed

May 26 – Late Positing

  • Date: 23 March 2009 – Topic: “Neonatal Jaundice”

  • Date: 24 March 2009 – Topic: “Breast Feeding”

I missed both the Ante Natal Classes, 13th Ante Natal my bro fainted and I was with him for the rest of the day and 14th coz he was admitted in the Hospital n I could not attend.

I really wished I could attend the 14th Ante – Natal Classes, since our child will require special care, a different angle, a different position and I guess a Palate Cap to feed – Since the Bilateral Palate may not help the child to suck and the feeds may come out from Palate.

Will wait for Aparna to send some details on the classes. I hope some one would update the classes ( like we have minutes of meeting after every meeting in office, wish something like that should be done for these classes )

However untill I get any update nothing from my end :(

Bro Admitted

May 25 – Late Posting

Got a call from my Bro – that he had been to the Hospital last night as the fever went up and told that now again they are going to the hospital as his fever is still high.

Had been to Metro so drove right from there to the Hospital – It was Ramkrishna Nursing Home. Saw my Bro along with my dad.

He was looking very sick – his fever had gone up to 104.5 c that was pretty serious. Doc had a word with me as I was the only one who was with him when he fainted.

Doc told that it was nothing by Viral Fever which had gone pretty high, he said we had to admit him immediately, I went to the check the Rooms to admit him.

Found that only the Deluxe and Semi Deluxe were available.. hmm  – for a moment felt like physically checking all the rooms to confirm but then it was not the right moment.

Booked a Semi Deluxe Room for him ( only that was available )– they took an advance to Rs. 10k and we moved to our room – on the First Floor.

They also gave him an oversized pair of dress to be worn, Poor guy – from his ultra style cool dude to a a , well have a look….

Dad always knows a thing or two about cheering others, he told that my bro that he looked Cool even in that stupid looking dress – enough to bring a smile to his face :)

Bro Fainting

May 23 – Late Posting

I was at my site when I got a call from my Bro, he wanted to go to College and pay the fees and get his admission done.

Jain College ( VV Puram ) here the management wanted the students to come with an elders to confirm the admission and pay the fees, I guess coz the decision taken here cannot be changed ( on the course and subjects ) and they dont want the students to carry such an amount alone.

When I reached office, I saw Darshan looking very ill, he complained of a severe head ache and his eyes were burning red. I told we could do this monday but he wanted to finish it today itself.

We went to the College and got the admission done, chose the combination and the language subject, we not had to pay the fees.

He still looked very ill, so I told him to be seated and wait while I finish the formalities and get the Fees part done.

After some time he got up from the chair and walked towards me, he was closing his eyes, just like to wake a kid from deep sleep. I asked him “ Chakkar Airiyo hein kai?”  in marwadi “ Are you feeling Dissy?” he just nodded and hugged me.

The Next moment his frail body became too heavy. I was struggling to hold him, his body was slipping  – it was only then I released that he fainted.

I struggled to hold him, he was falling, I called for some water, the College Authorities gave me some, I sprinkled few on face and still there was no sighs of consciousness. The second splash of water brought him back.

He was seated in a chair and so weak that he could not even stand up. All this happened in the Jain College and many parents who had come there for admission for their kids were assuming that he fainted for not getting an admission.

After a 5 min break, he clinged on to me and we went to the car, I got him a Lime Juice, a Samosa Burger and some fruits ( these was what available at that time)

He wanted to go home and take rest as he was feeling a lil ok, but I insisted that we visit the Doc and took him to Ram Krishna Nursing Home. I was asked to take a membership while the Doc came, I refused.

I said I will do that but let the Doc see the patient first, after that there is lot of time to register and take the card.

The Doc said that it was weakness as my bro revealed that he had little from morning and was suffering from fever. He also directed to have a blood test as he feared it may be flu

We got the tables, had a Mausambi juice and dropped him at Srinivas Nagar Home.

When I recollect the moment he came walking to me and collapsed in my arms, I have to agree that I was in a state of shock and did not know what to do or how to react. I have never seen a person faint in my life.

However hope he gets well soon.

Ganjam Mantappa Review

May 21 – Late Posting

Function Over and everything went to fine. The Food was well appreciated, the Stage & Theme Decoration, The Music and all the arrangements and the Most Important thing – The Ganjam Mantappa

Absolutely Amazing Place, Let me highlights the Facts which I knew earlier first :-

  • Cost of Hall per day Rs. 60k
  • Belongs to the same group of Ganjam Jewelers
  • It was actually a Home before ( Man, what a home )
  • Cost for usage of facilities from 6 AM to 10 PM only
  • Has one Function Hall and one Dining Hall
  • Cost includes 6 AC Rooms, Taxes, Cleaning, 4 Commercial Gas Cylinders, Kitchen Equipments and Serving Equipments
  • Eco Friendly and Hygiene Conscious
  • No Slippers in Kitchen
  • No drinking alcohol or smoking anywhere in the hall
  • No Disposable Plastic to be used
  • No Pets

and now this is what we also found out :-

  • They do oblige and we got the Rooms 4:30 AM
  • They have a full time staff of 10 Members – 3 Security Personnel and 2 Electricians too
  • A very very supportive supervisor
  • All staff neatly dressed in their uniform and well behaved
  • All Chairs & Tables also Provided by them
  • Our Caterer had by mistake disposable plastic glass early morning – 6 AM Coffee / Tea – they allowed but told not to use that gain
  • By 7 PM they had the entire hall neatly cleaned – thoroughly cleaned – ready for the next event
  • All that while none of the staff behaved in a manner like “Iam expecting a tip” and no Irritating favor seeking smile

On a Closing note the Hall was 60,150  – and we got the full refund of Rs. 9850/- and as confirmed no extra charges were deducted. The 4 out of the 6 rooms were very spacious and the Master Bed roon was HUGE and we had AC on for most of the day :)

In Short – Everything was perfect and Hassle Free – ya it comes with a cost, what the hell -  it’s better to spend a lil more and enjoy your event  –

My Lingo ‘ If not now, then when?’

Trivia on Function Gifts

May 20  – Late Posting

Just a trivia  –

As I said it was a mini reception aaaand we got so many envelopes –mmm Envelopes means some cash also in it :) and My bro said that the total Collection was 23k Wow ( coz it was taken n counted at their home )

But still wow, that was a Huge amount, I’m really surprised people gift that many cash and not to forget some gifts too. My Bro was telling that someone expected a higher No.

but I still cont come to terms with the earlier No. and I think that itself is too high and it makes me feel a lil uncomfortable – dunno why :S
