Pregnant Lady Car Sticker

March 21 2009

With Vanitha in the car, I’m forced to drive slow- avoiding all the pot holes and humps which are abundant in Bangalore Roads. But the Vehicles behind keep on Honking, how on earth can I make them understand that there is a Pregnant Lady inside the Car.

One option was a Car Sticker, I tried searching some cool ones, but most of them were Baby on Board, there was no sticker which said Pregnant Lady on Board :P

With lot of searching ( a week ) I ordered few custom made stickers online, here they are on Ma Beautiful Swift :)   Do let me know how did you like them – If you want something like this buzz me mpavan82 at gmail.com

Names of Doc & Support Staff

March 18

Now that I’m very comfortable with the Hospital and their Staff I can now reveal their names :-

Point of Contact is Wockhardt Maternity Wing – Ms. Aparna

Aparna was very supportive and clear in her communication, we interacted with her 3 to 4 times with various doubts before we took the TLC Package, She is the one who sends mails with regard to the Ante – Natal & Lamaze Classes every weekend and also the follow-ups.

Our Gynecologist : Dr. Mangala Ramchandra

Vanitha had coincidently met her in our Old Apartment Complex where Dr. Mangala had spoken about Pregnancy. Initially the Consultation were very short and brief but now we are getting used to each other. We take a list of Q written down and she takes time to clear all the doubts, advises us on the Do’s & Don’ts and guides us well ( Click here : Doc Consultation ) and the most important aspect of Dr. Mangala Ramchandra is – she is available most of the days at the Hospital and anytime on her Mobile.

Scan Technicians

Dr. Amitha for Early Pregnancy Scan & NT Scan and Dr. Pradeep for our Anomaly Scan, both of them were very friendly and explained us in detail about the Fetal Developments in the Womb – Some times I just nod though I can’t make out much in the Black & White Ultra Sound Scanning Screen :)

Lamaze Classes & Ante-Natal Classes

Ante Natal Speakers details is there in the Category of Ante-Natal Classes, can’t write much here as most of the classes are attended by Vanitha and I have no clue about it

Lamaze Classes was taken by Dr. Renu/Ritu – She was jovial and friendly looks like she is right out of College to the Hospital :) Her classes are very interactive with smiles and giggles all around. Vanitha feels at ease with her and does not hesitate to ask questions.

Receptionist & Nurse

Don’t remember the names but appreciate the Receptionist who schedules the appointment – organizes the order of patient visit and always soft spoken and smiling even though the patient goes on blah blah. And Nurse – again dunno know the name but friendly , clean and hygienic and pleasing to speak – Stressing on these coz I have seen some nurses elsewhere and they were disappointing

And Nurse was the first person who officially confirmed about our Pregnancy  : Formal Confirmation

Lamaze Classes

March 17 – Late Posting

Last Sunday we had our First Lamaze Classes, We did not know what to wear, what to carry with us, Napkin, Water Bottle nothing..

The Session was taken by Dr. Renu / Ritu ( still confused about the name) she was the jovial kind and looked like just out of College (Doc so young – you kind of get scared :p) and the whole session was very interactive with smiles and giggles all around.

I had met the same Doc couple of times, once when I had come with my dad for Physiotherapy and second to register for Lamaze Classes.

The Session started with various Stretches and Warm-ups, Fist, Palm, Back,  legs….. then they had some exercise to strengthen the back and pelvic muscles and then ended up with the Breathing Exercises.

A particular Breathing exercise was the most funny one, coz she would access how good are the Moms – examining them in a group of three. Vanitha did all wrong but was forgiven as it was her first day :)

Looking forward for the Next Lamaze Classes but this time like other dad’s there I will also carry a book with me :) my Exams are nearing better do some studying.

Pregnancy Myths

March 16

Please Note :  All information on this blog is for educational purposes only. For specific medical advice, diagnoses, and treatment, consult your doctor

Here are some updated list of Pregnancy Myths :-

Coconut Water is Good for Pregnant Ladies – False

Tender Coconut Water is rich in Minerals and hence is not advised to have during Pregnancy

Drinking Water- One Should not Drink much -False

There is no such thing, A Pregnant Woman can have the drinking water and also should have in large quantities. It is advisable to have three different Water Bottles, one for Morning, Noon and Eve

Ladoos – After Pregnancy Ladoos are must and help you a lot

This Myth is more prominent in my community ( Marwaris ), these Ladoos are good to eat but you should not have only these all day – don’t indulge in it. Man, with all that Ghee that goes into it – to be honest they do nothing but give Fat to the body :)

Ghee Helps Breast Myths – False

In short – It does not in any help in Breast Milk

7th Ante-Natal & Lamaze – Follow Up

Mar 15

We had our Ante Natal Classes from Ms Stuti Jain on “From a mother to mothers-to-be” – Was all exited to attend as this would be the second I’m attending and 6th Class of Vanitha. But she told all the guys there to wait outside as the talks were personal in nature.

Without any option had to wait outside until the classes got over. Before we left she did discuss about few things :-

Please Note :  All information on this blog is for educational purposes only. For specific medical advice, diagnoses, and treatment, consult your doctor

Naval

Please Clean the Naval of the Baby before and after the chord falls. This is very important as infections can be caused if not taken proper care. The best way is to use Alcohol Swipes which are available with the chemist.

Rashes

Rashes can be easily occur to babies, you have to make sure you clean the genitals and rectum every time with the baby poops or urines. Also advised to add Baby Oil or Coconut Oil which ever goes well with the baby while cleaning.

Schedule

This was very interesting, she shared a secret on how does she manage to maintain the schedule. Try to keep the baby awake till 9 or 10 PM even if the baby is dozing off, keep it engaged, so that when you sleep at around same time, the baby also has a peaceful sleep and baby will not be wide awake in the middle of night – both Mother and baby are happy :)

She also suggested to get the baby used to the fixed time schedule, maintain the same feeding time, same sleeping time from the beginning so that the baby gets used to it and both Mother and Baby are used to the timings.

She also cleared some Pregnancy Myths – will put a separate post on this

Anomaly Scan – Results

March 15

We had our Anomaly Scan, everything thing was fine, the hands, the Legs, Fingers, Kidneys, Lungs, Heart Beats – Perfectly Fine. We also came to know about something, this I will keep it as secret :) Will reveal this surprise only when the baby is born, but we are happy that baby is healthy.

By the way the Scan was done by Dr Amitha and Dr Pradeep, and we are pleased with their knowledge, their friendly attitude and prompt follow ups :)

As this scan was included in our TLC Package we did not pay anything :)

Vomit – Once Again

March 14

We thought the Vomiting and Nausea should have stopped by now, and we were actually believing that until today morning.

Morning after having breakfast she was a lil quite, not answering in the conversation, I realized something wrong and I sensed this silence was the same  – the one she would have before Vomits.

She tried to remain calm but it did help, and she went running to the wash room and then started the series of vomits. It was bad as usual, everything she had from morning had come out and  was left all exhausted.

Tom we have our First Lamaze Classes, hope that will be fun and a good time to socialize with similar moms to be.
