My Cousin had come from Chennai and we planned to visit Innovative Film City. Me Vanitha my cousin and my sis were planned to leave in the morning by 8:30. But Vanitha again complained that she feels very tired and a stomach ache that had potential to ruin a good outing, so she choose to stay back. Good she stayed back as we still did not know if she was pregnant, it was just a mere guess happening that she may be pregnant looking at her symptoms.
Some Gyan Sharing on how to you use this device
Since she is staying back and i had to leave early we decided to take the pregnancy test, we went through the manual countless times, things seemed simple. The device had a strip wherein there were two alphabets embossed on it, one was “T” and the other “C” and a place to drop the urine marked “S”. You had to drop 3 drops of the morning urine on the place marked “S”, the strip would be blotted and a purple line would appear at the place of “T”. Now the most important thing to notice, if another purple line appeared where it is marked “C” would mean you are pregnant and if only the line next to “T” appeared means you are not. You give the device a maximum time limit of 5 min and thats it, any results after that should not be considered.
The stage was set, we were mentally prepared, If the test was negative – since we did not plan to be pregnant we had nothing to loose but the anticipation that she may be pregnant was very exciting. The moment she dropped those drops i had a strange feeling, the time seemed to slow down, there were various thought on my mind, i was feeling i have grown old, there was a feeling of maturity, there was a feeling of a responsible father. While Vanitha hugged watching the strip blot i though i could breathe between the seconds, the time just stalled. We saw only one line near “T”, Vanitha hugged me tighter, I remained calm and reminded her that we did not expect this test to pass. I felt drops on my arm, sensed it was tears rolling down, we just stood there hugging each,
Vanitha :-” I can see a faint Second Line”, even i could see the very faint second line where it was marked “T” just then i remembered that we were suppose to wait for 5 min, still very unsure we congratulated each other and decided to search on you tube to see the similar test and confirm if she was really pregnant. Vanitha decided to ask her elder sister about it. I left the house with a smile thinking she may be pregnant and the same time reminding myself she may be not.
The Testing Device and the Faint Second Line
Middle of the day i received an sms from Vanitha which read “My sis says its positive”, i sent her a smiley and said will be back home as soon as possible. This Day I Discovered That I would be a Father, truly a Moment to Cherish
